There are many reasons why you might consider learning a properly choreographed dance for your wedding, or the wedding of friends and loved ones.  Foremost, is that many wedding receptions are videotaped and capturing the moment of your elegant dance routine will become one of your most precious of memories of that special day.

If you are planning to dance at your wedding, here are some important tips:

Start your lessons early. Remember that your schedule will get very hectic as your wedding day approaches.

Select your favorite dance. Besides the Waltz and other traditional dances, the Mambo, Salsa, Swing and even the Hustle are all popular at weddings today.

Choose a special song.  If you plan to dance to a special song at your reception, feel free to bring a recording of it to your dance lessons so you can work on it with your instructor. Choosing a special song will make the experience all the more meaningful.

Give a lasting gift to one another: Feeling confident and poised when you dance together will ensure that your very first dance together as wife and husband will be a memory you will cherish forever.

Enjoy the experience. Let the lessons pull you out of the hustle and bustle of the day to spend an hour or so with your intended, having fun and working together productively at the same time.
