Dancing With Our Stars
Donna participates annually in the Syracuse “Dancing With Our Stars” Competition where she teams up with a local celebrity, choreographs one or more dance routines, teaches her partner to dance, and then performs with her celebrity partner in front of a large audience, usually at the OnCenter in Downtown Syracuse. The event is a fundraiser for the George & Rebecca Barnes Foundation; formed to meet the growing demands of preservation, restoration and maintenance of 930 James Street, the original home of George and Rebecca Barnes. The Foundation’s goal is to preserve the home and educate the general public about the significance of the home and its original occupants.
Donna has been teaching Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and other Social Dances full-time for over 20 years in the Syracuse area and has a regular teaching schedule of over 100 students per week. In addition to her daily dance classes Donna has taught well over 1000 couples preparing for their wedding – many requesting a specially choreographed routine for their first dance that includes a memorable entrance and exit.
